Director Bangladesh

Fundación Intervida is in the process of selecting a National Director for their office in Bangladesh. The Director is responsible for managing the integral development projects according to the strategic guidelines of the organization.

Functions:

  • Direct the Strategic Planning process and monitor its execution.
  • Execute the policies established by INWA and propose improvements to the same.
  • Plan and execute plans for growth, expansion or the operative and/or territorial contracting.
  • Guarantee the effective and efficient management of the organization.
  • Guarantee the effective and efficient development of the budgetary elaboration and execution process.
  • Promote the optimal working environment and the development of organizational staff.
  • Participate in the establishment of inter-institutional relationships and agreements.
  • Establish and promote the communication with other Executing Entities.
  • Analyze and implement policies to address national problems.
  • Promote innovative projects within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Advanced studies in economy, law or a similar field.
  • 3-5 years experience in project direction in a private company, team direction.
  • Advanced level of English.

Technical Program Coordinator in Nicaragua

In general, the DTP guarantees the proper programming of activities, their validation (including the budget) by the headquarters, their execution and their coordination, as well as the presentation of reports to the headquarters:

Functions:

  • Supervise the elaboration of the annual planning: support the conception of the programs, projects and activities, guarantee their adaptation to the local needs, philosophies and framework of the NGO.
  • Execution, monitoring and evaluation of the programs (physical and budgetary): ensure the proper internal development of the activities, guarantee communication with the headquarters in Barcelona and adjust the activities in function of the needs identified.
  • Provide technical support to the various heads of division, as well as coordination, team organization, support for recruitment and evaluation of the staff.
  • Monitoring and strategic development of the NGO, diagnostics of the area, establishment of intervention areas.
  • Mount projects and search for external financing, contact with technical collaborators, and communication with the technical team in the Barcelona headquarters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years professional experience in development projects.
  • University training/Development engineer.
  • Strong capacity to mange projects.
  • Strong capacity to manage teams and provide leadership.
  • Good competence in organization, analysis and communication.
  • Interest in working in the field (both rural and urban areas).
  • Autonomous person, capable of making decisions.
  • Own vehicle required.

We offer:

  • Status: Employee contracted in Spain, with contract of 1 year in duration with possibility to convert this in an indefinite contract.
  • Compensation: based on experience.

Specialist in education and children's rights and protection

Responsibilities:

  • Elaborate strategic guidelines in the areas of education and children’s rights and protection; define annual objectives and interventions which bring these to fruition, taking responsibility for the corresponding compliance in both the North and South.
  • Design tools which enable measurement of the performance and impact of Intervida’s education programs.
  • Assess the evolution of the protection of children’s rights in public policies in those countries where Intervida is present.
  • Collaborate with other organizational divisions to elaborate materials and provide information which is requested for activities related to communication, awareness-raising, training, dissemination and the elaboration of studies.
  • Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports.
  • Provide methodological and technical support to the field teams.
  • Strengthen the capacity of national and international personnel of Intervida and local partners assigned to the education and children’s rights and protection divisions.
  • Represent Intervida before donor organizations and international organisms in the education and children’s rights sectors, and in platforms and networks in which it is integrated.

Education and Experience:

  • PhD in education, with emphasis on cooperation for development.
  • Master’s degree or studies in children’s rights and protection.
  • 8-10 years experience in the design, implementation, direction and evaluation of educational programs in developing countries.
  • Experience in analysis of the educational sector in developing countries, and in the analysis of educational policies.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, organization and methodological development.
  • Proven experience in strengthening capacities and in providing technical assistance in a wide range of areas in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience in several countries and with the procedures of various donor institutions.
  • High level of Spanish and English.

Desirable Education and Experience:

  • Experience in designing and directing research projects in the fields of education and children’s rights.
  • High level of French.

  • Broad knowledge and comprehension of mother-child health problems in developing countries.
  • Experience in designing nutritional guides for health professionals.
  • Demonstrable experience in child malnutrition and in formulating action plans.
  • Experience in the analysis of health policies in developing countries.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, organization and methodological development.

Fundación Intervida is searching for candidates to direct their central office in the countries where it runs its integral development projects.

The action areas are Central America, South American, Africa and Asia.

Functions:

  • Direct the Strategic Planning Process and provide monitoring to its execution.

Specialist in health and food security

Fundación Intervida is looking for a specialist in health and food security for its headquarters in Barcelona.
Reporting to the Head of Projects, the specialist will be in charge of developing strategic intervention guidelines for the institution in the area of health and food security.
Once these have been defined, the specialist will provide support and reinforcement to the projects, in order to improve the quality and capitalization of the results in the area of health and food security.

Functions:

  • To elaborate strategic guidelines for Fundación Intervida related with health and food security, according to the needs identified in the countries in the South.
  • Elaboration of proposals to be presented for external financing.
  • Identify and strengthen the quality criteria for the interventions in the South.
  • Review the Annual Operating Plan of the Intervidas in the South.
  • Promote the capitalization of experiences and knowledge management in the North and South

Requirements:

  • Degree in Medicine.
  • English (negotiation level).

General Functions:

  • Direct the Department of Administration and Finances in Mali.
  • Guide and coordinate the work of the finance team and optimize resources.

Specific functions:

  • Accounting and treasury control.
  • Inventory and warehouse control.
  • Fiscal and personnel control, as well as control of administrative information.
  • Elaboration of budgets and budget reviews.

Requirements:

  • Degree in economics, law or similar.
  • 3-5 years experience in project management in a private company, team management.
  • Advanced level of French and Spanish required.
