Intervida’s objectives are akin to those of other institutions which also seek to achieve human development.

As such, we establish alliances and form part of networks in order to increase our opportunities for sharing information and resources, learning and collaborating on methodologies, and raising public awareness.

Consultative status with the United Nations.
NGO in special consultative status with the UNITED NATIONS Economic and Social Council
- The United Nations’ Economic and Social Council works to promote a higher quality of life and social and economic progress around the world. It identifies solutions to health, economic and social problems, facilitates cultural and educational cooperation, and promotes universal respect to basic human rights and liberties. Intervida forms part of the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council, along with 3,000 other organizations. The organization was granted Special Consultative Status, making us one of the non-government interlocutors for the UN and giving us the opportunity and responsibility to participate in the recommendations made by ECOSOC to the UN and its member states.
- United Nations Publications and Information Department
- The NGO section of the United Nations Publications and Information Department acts as a liaison between the United Nations, NGOs and other civil organizations, providing these with documentation and information services, and strengthening ties between members. The aim of DPI is to share knowledge, practices and information on the issues prioritized by the United Nations. Intervida forms part of the NGO section of the DPI along with 1,600 other organizations.
- NGO Group on the Convention for the Rights of the Child
- The NGO Group on the Convention on the Rights of the Child is a coalition of nongovernmental organizations working to promote the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, created in 1989. The NGO Group runs a program which targets child sexual exploitation, abuse and violence, and promotes the coordination of joint and global actions to fight against these problems. Intervida forms part of this platform together with 75 other organizations which are dedicated to defending children’s rights.
- CRIN
- Children’s Rights Information Network (CRIN) is a network of civil and non-profit organizations which share the common aim of exchanging information and resources towards the correct implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child worldwide. As a global information network, CRIN works jointly with the Committee on the Convention of the Rights of the Child and disseminates information on the rights of the child to NGOs, intergovernmental agencies, public institutions and other member organizations, which are currently around 1,700.
- CONGO
- The Conference of Non-Government Organizations in Consultative Status with the United Nations (CONGO) is an association of independent, international and non-profit members. It facilitates NGO participation in the debate and decision-making processes of the UN sessions, and gives them the responsibility for actively participating in the processes on special issues addressed by the expert committees. Intervida forms part of CONGO, supporting the expert committees on child sexual exploitation and food security, among other issues.
- UN.GIFT
- The Global Fight against Human Trafficking initiative is a worldwide network of organizations sponsored by the United Nations Office for Narcotics and Crime. The aim of UN.GIFT is to join forces and initiatives to coordinate the fight against human trade and trafficking. Initiated in March 2007, this initiative is based on the Protocol to prevent, suppress and persecute the trafficking of persons, especially of women and children, a protocol which was ratified by 110 countries.
- EFC
- The European Foundation Centre is an international association of foundations and organizations dedicated to creating a proper legal and fiscal framework. Its mission is to strengthen and document the forum for European foundations, to promote collaboration between foundations and other actors, and to promote the public sector in Europe and other environments.
- Association of Spanish Foundations
- The Association of Spanish Foundations is a group of over 750 foundations, of all areas of activity, of all sizes, national, regional or local, with the common aim of strengthening the foundational sector by promoting shared knowledge, collaboration, synergies and joint efforts. Intervida has been a member of the Association of Spanish Foundations since 1994.
