Integral Development Model
Intervida works across the following sectors: health, education, culture, economic development, envionment, infraestrucures and food security. This multi-sector focus integrates strategies of structural change based on participation, respect and the strengthening of skills and opportunities for the individuals, families and communities with whom we work. Promoting strategies in the South directly implies promoting changes in the North, which is why Intervida’s commitment and efforts are backed by social mobilization strategies, education for development and coordination with other social actors.
Intervida’s priorities are: children andwomen.
Children are the most vulnerable population. It is important to guarantee them health, nutrition and education, since they represent the future of local development.
Women are the target of programs to prevent discrimination, exploitation and the abuse which many of them suffer. For this development to be real, women need to reclaim their place in society and to ensure that their rights are upheld.
This way of working has led Intervida to directly benefit nearly 1,000,000 million children, their families and the communities in which they live.
