20 N: Everyone to the Plaza!

When better than World Children’s Day to bring Do It Yourself, the campaign to raise awareness on child labor exploitation, to the street.

On Thursday, November 20th, come to Barcelona’s Plaza Universitat (Metro L1, L2). In the 50 m2 we have reserved you can see the photographs of José Alfonso, the photography exhibition on child labor exploitation which is touring several Spanish cities.

Remember the t-shirt design contest we held on www.hazlotumismo.org? This time, you can design yours and wear it out. We will be bringing stencils by Guillermo Soria and Ceci Zam (muralists and creators of arts with social utility) with some of the campaign’s designs, spray paints and tons of t-shirts ready to be personalized. All you have to bring is your inspiration, we’ll take care of the rest.

And, of course, we’ll be there all day, happy to tell you more about the campaign and the projects we work on to fight against child labor exploitation.  Come by our stand and take away a copy of Exploited Lives, the book which discusses this problem.

Thursday, November 20th is a good time to let the kid in you out to play. We’ll be waiting for you in the “Plaza”!

  • Wake Up! and join solidarity

    Wake Up! and join solidarity

It's the moment of waking up: it's the start of 'Wake Up!' in Madrid, the event organized by IUVE in order to promote solidarity among youth.

We couldn't miss it! So, from today until Friday November 7th, you can find us in the fair for NGOs 'Wake Up!', a space shared with other NGOs from across all fields.

Come to the stand of Intervida. Besides explaining to you the projects which we are carrying out, we have also put up on sale some solidary products as candles, cups or foulards.

'Wake Up!' aims to encourage society in general —and particularly youth— to take part in volunteer work as an alternative for free time.

During these four days, come to the Faculty of Medicine of the Complutense University of Madrid and enjoy the different activities related to solidarity and volunteer work.

    We’re waiting for you!

  • Dales Voz renews itself

    Dales Voz renews itself

Following the campaign against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), which we ran in 2006 and 2007, Intervida now converts the Dales Voz (Give them a Voice) webpage into a portal of information on CSEC.

For two years, Dales Voz (www.dalesvoz.org) was the reflection of the campaign we run against CSEC on various fronts. During this time, we  gathered thousands of signatures, held an international conference on the problem and carried out many other actions aimed at raising awareness about the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents around the world.

Now, with ever-increasing experience in this area, Intervida offers all our sponsors and society in general a web page specialized in CSEC, with all the information on this phenomenon which affects millions of children around the world.

In the new Dales Voz (Give Them a Voice) you can find all types of information on the reality of child sexual exploitation around the world, documentation from specialized international entities, advocacy networks, programmed events in which Intervida and other organizations participate, and all the information on our field work against CSEC.

    We hope you like it!

  • You can also be a star

You can also be a star

“To feel, smiles, I discover time, I am happy there…”. This is how this week’s post begins. With the feelings, sensations and experiences of the sponsors who have visited the projects and have seen, first hand, the reality in which the most vulnerable countries live.

Carles, Gisela and Eva are the stars of our latest campaign. They, better than anyone, can explain their experience of visiting the projects and meeting their sponsored child.

We invite you to enter The Sponsors Speak, a space where the sensations will be vivid, where the voice of the sponsors will bring you closer to their experience, and you will feel what it is like to be a sponsor. You will also be able to download banners for your webpage and personalize your computer with solidary screen backgrounds. Come visit!

And don’t forget that you can send your photos, videos and comments through our web or through the Facebook social network. Join Intervida and become a "fan". You will be up to date on the latest, and you can share your opinion, express your ideas and share the experience of forming part of Intervida.

You can do many things to change the world. Spreading the solidary message among your friend is one of them.  Pass it on!
