A rose for Cambodia
International Book Day, or Saint George’s Day has a special touch in Barcelona. People fill the streets to take a wall, look for a book, have a book signed by the author, give a rose to their girlfriend, wife or friend. But this year, it was also an opportunity to express solidarity with Cambodia...
The event we bring to the street allocates the profits from the rose sales to the campaign against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children. Through this rose we explain the projects we run in Cambodia, along with other local NGOs, to raise the population’s awareness and establish foundations to eradicate the problem.
Despite the large number of other stands in which you could buy a role, more than 350 Barcelonians showed their support for the campaign. The feeling was very positive since they were aware they were not only buying a rose, but that they were also supporting one of the countries suffering the most from the sexual exploitation of minors.
