Intervida renews its ISO 9001:2000 certificate, which guarantees quality management of the organization
Madrid (30/07/2008). INTERVIDA has renewed its ISO 9001:2000 certificate through this external audit. This audit, which is conducted every three years, consists of a review of all of the organization’s departments to confirm compliance with all of the requisites established by this norm.
The ISO 9001:2000 norm establishes a set of requisites aimed at improving the organization’s capacities and performance, hereby achieving improved quality in the services provided. Obtaining the certificate means that the organization complies with these requisites and is actively involved in improving the outcome of its work in aspects pertaining to its management system, resource management and the responsibilities of Direction in defining policies, objectives and commitments to quality management.
This certificate is a legally valid document recognized around the world and is expedited by an entity which certifies that the organization complies with the highest quality norms. The work methodology adapted to the ISO norm seeks to increase quality by improving the organization in charge of production. As such, certifying the quality of the entity guarantees, at the same time, the quality of each and every one of the elements which comprise it. Submitting to this audit also speaks to the organization’s commitment to its continuous improvement.
The ISO is a norm which entities adopt voluntarily, and the willingness to submit to it speaks to the commitment of the final outcome or service provided. In the case of INTERVIDA, this norm has been adapted to the particularities of a NGO, based on the fact that it is not a profit-driven company and it does not have clients or consumers, but rather collaborators.
INTERVIDA was the first European NGO to obtain the ISO quality certification, having obtained this in July 1999. Since then, the organization has submitted to periodic external audits to maintain the certification.
