The ‘Do It Yourself’ web has already received 500 t-shirt proposals

Madrid (23/07/2008). INTERVIDA has brought its ‘Do it Yourself. Give Them a Voice 2.0’ campaign to the Web, proposing an image that calls for solidarity with child laborers, especially in the textile industry around the world. From the Web page for the www.hazlotumismo.org campaign, visitors have the opportunity to create their own virtual t-shirt, demonstrating their commitment to the fight against child labor.

As of today, 500 designs have been added to the campaign; through their creativity, these join in condemning the situation in which thousands of children are obliged to work in order to survive.

Furthermore, users can vote from among the online designs entered on the Web page to select the t-shirt which will be the image of the campaign, thereby getting actively involved in this initiative in a unique way. Until September 10th, visitors who wish to do so can join this initiative launched by INTERVIDA in its fight against child labor.

To date, the Webwww.hazlotumismo.org has received over 20,000 visits. Visitors to the site have the opportunity to learn more about this problem which affects millions of children in the developing world through diverse documentation and stories which bring them closer to the lives of several children who are victims of labor exploitation.

INTERVIDA, aware of the seriousness of this situation launched the ‘Do it Yourself. Give Them a Voice 2.0’ campaign in June. The campaign aims to condemn this violation of children’s rights and to raise social awareness of this terrible problem. With its slogan, ‘Do it yourself. Don’t let a child do it’ a brand is created in which the users can design their own product, seeking to raise awareness of responsible consumption and inviting them to acquire products which were not manufactured by children.
