Intervida participates in the first edition of the Forum Alternative Channel

Madrid (30/04/2008). INTERVIDA is present in the first edition of the Forum Alternative Channel which is organized, under the title “Social Networks and Responsible Media”, by the internet television channel ALTERNATIVE CHANNEL in collaboration with IWITH.ORG, today in Barcelona.

INTERVIDA will participate in one of the workshops which will be held during the event, explaining its audiovisual strategy, which has gone through various phases in recent months, adapting to the situation which the organization has been experiencing. It will also address the notoriety which a an NGO received for participation in a fictional series, provided that the plot is loyal to the role and work carried out by the entity in real life. The event’s theoretical-practical approach facilitates the sharing of experiences and solutions to audiovisual production solutions, which have arisen over time and provokes debate in the various workshops.

This forum arises from the idea to promote the use of new Internet applications to all those involved in the Third Sector and to address issues of sustainable development and humanitarian action. As such, the event, which can be followed in person or online, is held in three parallel spaces through which 200 participants in the FORUM ALTERNATIVE CHANNEL will be able to learn to participate in the web 2.0, place videos on the Internet and improve their online visibility.

On the one hand, seminars have been organized in which international experts will debate the latest trends in technology in service of society in round table sessions. On the other hand, thanks to the audiovisual workshops, attendees can participate in theoretical-practical sessions with professionals in the audiovisual field who offer tips on how to improve the visibility of the entities in the communication media, and in particular, on the Internet. Additionally, a “Speaker’s Corner” will illustrate practical examples of these initiatives.

To participate in this meeting, all those who wish may sign up by filling in the formula on the Forum website: http://forum.alternativechannel.tv.

The social community networks and portals have converted themselves radically into communication, which has gone from being unidirectional to viral. Responsible communication media like ALTERNATIVE CHANNEL cannot avoid this reality and give a voice to alternative sources, converting themselves in speakers for information about the future of the planet.

Since its initiation last Fall, ALTERNATIVE CHANNEL offers a video debate platform open to NGOs, citizens and responsible companies. It is an Internet television channel on sustainable development and humanitarian action whose objection is to put organizations and people in contact with each other. ALTERNATIVE CHANNEL emits information on current themes arising from alternative sources such that any web surfer can send a video; once this is evaluated by a committee in charge of guaranteeing compliance with an ethical code, this can be seen by viewers around the world thanks to the Internet, the mobile phone or any other communication media.
